Our Doctrinal Statement
From First Baptist Church of Harrington, Maine

When an individual or family is seeking a local church for regular attendance or membership in, they should take care to ask for that church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith.

Churches adopt these statements mainly as confessions of faith, as a witness to the world, and as instruments of Biblical, doctrinal accountability.
We are not embarrassed to state before the world that these are doctrines we hold precious and as essential to our faith and practice.
Our statement is based on the authority and teaching of the Word of God and the reader/seeker should feel encouraged, even challenged, to verify that our statement is in accordance with the inspired Word of God.

A soul is a precious thing to waste, especially for eternity, and many have been deceived by leaders on their own agenda.

The Scriptures are given not only for one’s salvation but also for instruction.  We need to know them in order to be prepared to live in a Christ-like fashion as a testimony to the world and an encouragement to one another.
If we build upon any other foundation but Christ, we build upon sand.  Think of these articles as the foundational stones, laid in place by the Lord Himself, upon which our faith and practice is built.
